Best, Fast, Easy- Inspired Chicken Broth

This broth cooks longer making it more rich and deep.  It does take a bit more 

Work.  


Ingredients

  • 1 3-4 lb chicken

  • cold filtered water


Instructions

  1. Put chicken in a heavy bottomed pot, cover with water

  2. Bring to a simmer

  3. Simmer until breast meat reaches 165 degrees

  4. Remove chicken and and cut breast meat away.  WARNING: CHICKEN IS HOT BE CAREFUL!! Cool and store the breasts.  Return remainder of bir to the pot.

  5. Continue to simmer until thighs reach 185.  

  6. Remove chicken and and cut legs away.  WARNING: CHICKEN IS HOT BE CAREFUL!!  Cool and store the legs.  Return remainder of bir to the pot.    If you plan to use the leg meat shredded, you can remove it from the bone and return skin and bone to the pot. 

  7. Continue to simmer for another hour or two.  Eventually, you need to stop.  

  8. Strain broth into a large jar or other container/s

  9. Shred chicken and use however you like
